Maple Planked Pork Roast
with Maple Bacon Seasoning
by Andrea Alden
Grill on a plank over direct heat
Preheat your grill to 400°F.
Soak your Napoleon Maple Plank
in water for at least 30 minutes prior to grilling.
Place the seasoned pork roast on the soaked plank. Place the plank onto the grill over direct heat, and insert a meat thermometer, like Napoleon’s PRO Wireless Digital Thermometer
, into the thickest part of the meat. Ensure that the probe doesn’t touch bone or plank to get an accurate reading.
Grill on the plank over direct heat for 45 to 60 minutes, checking the temperature around the 30-minute mark. You are looking for an internal temperature of 150°F to 155°F. When the pork has reached this temperature, remove it from the grill. Cover it with foil or a bowl to rest for at least 10 minutes where it will finish coming up to temperature of 160°F to 165°F.
