I saw a photo of this dish while surfing the interwebs the other day. It looked scrumptious, Salmon Udon with Orange Sauce doesn’t just look scrumptious, though; it tastes amazing too. The fresh chilies bring the heat while the orange adds a fresh zest to this Asian-inspired noodle dish. Try it yourself and break out of that weeknight rut.

Salmon Udon

Serves: 4       Total Time: 35 Minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon filets
  • citrus seafood rub
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • 16 oz. udon noodles
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • ¼ cup of soy sauce
  • ½ inch cube of ginger, grated
  • ½ tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 clove of garlic, grated
  • 1 red chilie, minced (optional)
  • sesame seeds and green onion for garnish

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your grill to 400°F.
Step 2
Rub the salmon on all sides with your seafood seasoning of choice. Place the seasoned fillets into the Napoleon Flexible Grill Basket.
Step 3
Follow the package instructions for preparing the udon. Set aside
Step 4
In a small bowl whisk together the orange juice, soy, ginger, and cornstarch.
Step 5
Place the salmon over direct heat, cooking for about 10 minutes. Flip the basket over using Napoleon Heat Resistant Gloves, then brush the up side of the fish with some of the orange-soy mixture.
Step 6
Heat the sesame oil in your Napoleon Stainless Steel Wok over the side burner of your grill.
Step 7
Stir fry the udon for a minute or two in the sesame oil. Add the chilie and garlic, continuing to stir fry for a minute before adding the remaining soy sauce. Simmer the noodles in sauce until the sauce has reduced a little and thickened.
Step 8
Serve the salmon on top of the udon, garnished with sesame seeds and green onion.

Salmon Udon with Orange Sauce is fresh and bright. The slurp-worthy, thick noodles are fun to eat with fish and will make this easy weeknight dinner something the whole family will love. What grilling recipe has broken you out of the weeknight rut?

Happy Grilling!
