Mini Blueberry Pies

Mini Blueberry Pies

Two-Bite Treats

Posted on April 25, 2017
It happens to be National Blueberry Pie day soon, so I just had to make Mini Blueberry Pies for dessert on the BBQ. Blueberry pie is also a favorite of someone I know too. I ask you though, why make something full sized when you can miniaturize it and make something not only delicious but adorable too? There’s no good reason not to! Hold on to your tongs everyone, because this dessert is going to blow your taste buds away!

Bangers, potatoes, bacon, and onion make a marvelous meal

Posted on March 14, 2017
Not quite a stew, not quite a soup, but filled with delicious sausage, bacon, and potatoes; Dublin Coddle is savory and delightful. Serve this with a fresh loaf of Irish Soda Bread to soak up the scrumptious juices and you have a perfect Irish-inspired meal, ideal for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Did I mention that this recipe is super easy too?

Mongolian Beef

Mongolian Beef

With Sweet Snap Peas

Posted on March 01, 2017
Never will you ever have a more delicious dinner than this Mongolian Beef With Sweet Snap Peas! We really enjoyed this. We were hard pressed to get enough photographs that we could safely begin eating. Trust me; make this with the intention of eating it, because waiting for any reason is going to be tough. (UNLIKE the notoriously tough, flank steak that you will eat in this recipe.)

Super Fluffy Chocolate Chip Pancakes, another take on Japanese Pancakes, these pancakes are larger than life and twice as delicious. Serve topped with maple syrup, chocolate syrup, fruit sauce, or whipped cream and you will have the best breakfast ever. Definitely only need one of these to fill the void, that’s for sure.

Turkey Pot Pie

Turkey Pot Pie

Leftover Magic

Posted on January 04, 2017
his Turkey Pot Pie was a result of a semi-permanent state food overdose and my need for easy comfort food. After the incredible success of my Sous Vide Thanksgiving Turkey, I was asked to prepare another bird for the family over the holidays. This time, there weren’t nearly as many leftovers as the first time (We had nearly 10 lbs of a 12 lb. turkey left at Thanksgiving). There were still leftovers enough for this delicious meal.

I should start at the beginning. We had a near disaster while cooking the turkey with the Joule Sous Vide. Two of the bags sprung a leak, there was turkey juice in the cooking water, being sucked up and circulated by the Joule. It was a mess. My poor Joule! Everything cleaned up easily though, and the water that got into the bags (not the cooking water) made copious amounts of gravy, at least three times what I normally get! That gravy got put into this pot pie recipe, making it at least twenty percent more delicious!

Grill Roasted Salmon

Grill Roasted Salmon

With Fresh Herbs & Feta

Posted on January 06, 2016
My husband ate a lot of fish growing up. I did not. At all. So, it's been slow going getting into the seafood thing, but we are getting there. As you can see, Salmon is my favorite and this Grill Roasted Salmon With Fresh Herbs & Feta was absolutely amazing. Fragrant fresh herbs and creamy zippy feta top a meaty salmon fillet. When served with some Crispy Roast Potatoes (just add some fresh dill and a squeeze of lemon) it's perfect.

Lebanese Beef Shawarma

Lebanese Beef Shawarma

With Tahini Sauce

Posted on August 25, 2015
The success of the Chicken Shawarma recipe made me realize how delicious Shawarma can be. I wanted to make it again, but I also wanted to make a meal that was just a little different too. Lebanese Beef Shawarma With Tahini Sauce fit the bill exactly, using some traditional spice combinations you can take beef to a whole new level. The only thing we didn't have was the fries to go in the pita. But man was this  ever some good food.

Actually, having just moved into our new home, my husband and I have had some issues with appliances and unfinished stuff (new build), so having nowhere to put our dishes for the most part left us in kind of a pickle. A pickle that is solved by making food that is portable. I know, all my pretty dishes seem to be making it onto the site okay, and I guess I could use paper plates and what not, but there's no fun in that! I want to make the food work for me! So we did.
