Open Faced Steak Sandwich

Open Faced Steak Sandwich

on Pane Di Casa

Posted on June 29, 2016
I had leftover steak from the Gourmet Steak Pizza recipe and wanted something a little heartier for lunch one day. I made this Open Faced Steak Sandwich on Pane Di Casa, initially intending it to be a full on sandwich, but as I dressed it up and was getting ready to put the top on, I just couldn’t. This sandwich was so beautiful as it was. Instead I made a couple more and served them to my husband, who proceeded to rave about them. Now the whole family is requesting them for our Fancy Family Canada Day Picnic Lunch Celebration. Okay so the event title is a bit of a work in progress, but the Open Faced Steak Sandwiches aren’t!

Steak Diane

Steak Diane

With A Twist

Posted on December 10, 2015
Steak Diane is a  decadent little meal that is supremely enjoyable. The steak is tender and flavorful, the sauce is amazing, (But anything that is made with whisky and heavy cream would be right?), and everything else on the plate just makes it that much more delightful. I actually made this because I had nothing else in the house for food. I cook a lot and need groceries a lot, it's a thing. Anyway, I just happened to have some beef tenderloin, the ends that were trimmed from the Beef Wellington Recipe, the other ingredients... not so much, but it sure was delicious.

Creamy Onion Poppyseed Dressing

Creamy Onion Poppyseed Dressing

Perfect On Spinach Salad

Posted on May 06, 2015
I prepared Creamy Onion Poppyseed Dressing to go with my Lamb Sliders for Mother's Day luncheon and it paired perfectly. Lamb has an earthy flavor that needs to be lightened up with colorful and bright flavors meaning a fresh salad is perfect, and Creamy Onion Poppyseed Dressing sticks to that salad's bones when you use it.  It's thick, and has all the makings of a perfect dressing. The tang, the sweet and onions.
