Homemade Pickles

With Garlic & Dill

Posted on September 28, 2016
As House Stark is fond of saying, “Winter is Coming”. To prepare for the long months of cold temperatures we decided to make some Homemade Pickles With Garlic & Dill. These babies (baby cucumbers that is) are delicious, with the crunchy-tang that pairs perfectly with your favorite sandwiches and burgers. The perfect way to preserve the produce you grew over the summer.

Grill Roasted Salmon

Grill Roasted Salmon

With Fresh Herbs & Feta

Posted on January 06, 2016
My husband ate a lot of fish growing up. I did not. At all. So, it's been slow going getting into the seafood thing, but we are getting there. As you can see, Salmon is my favorite and this Grill Roasted Salmon With Fresh Herbs & Feta was absolutely amazing. Fragrant fresh herbs and creamy zippy feta top a meaty salmon fillet. When served with some Crispy Roast Potatoes (just add some fresh dill and a squeeze of lemon) it's perfect.

Grilled Swordfish Kebabs

Grilled Swordfish Kebabs

Fresh ingredients make the difference here

Posted on September 09, 2014

I needed something to make for dinner one night. I was perusing the seafood isle at my local grocer while waiting in line for the deli attendant when I saw a gigantic swordfish steak sitting there pretty as you please. The skin was still on it, smooth and shiny, a dark green-ish-black-y-blue, and the colour was bright. It looked kinda good. The price was right too. So I snagged that lonely steak and capered home with my find.

Plank Smoked Mashed Potatoes

Plank Smoked Mashed Potatoes

What's the dill with these?

Posted on December 23, 2013

These Plank Smoked Mashed Potatoes have officially become my favorite way to prepare potatoes! In preparation for the holiday season, I made a Christmas Goose with all the trimmings. That means that you need Mashed Potatoes and vegetables and gravy too. When making Mashed Potatoes for planking, it’s best to do them up the day before. This is some super secret special technique that Ted Reader taught me ages ago. Try it for yourself and you will see why.
