Veal Tenderloin

Veal Tenderloin

with Roasted Garlic, Gorgonzola and Mushrooms

Posted on May 11, 2017

This year, for Mother’s Day, why not treat your Mom to something truly special (besides some great grilling gifts). Veal Tenderloin with Roasted Garlic, Gorgonzola, and Mushrooms is unique and flavorful, perfect for treating your Mom to a fancy dinner. Some find blue cheeses, gorgonzola, in particular, a little too much for them. If that is the case, or you have someone with an allergy, don’t worry. You can substitute something that you would prefer. Try goats cheese, sheep milk feta, or even parmesan. All of these are excellent choices.

Gumbo Pizza

Gumbo Pizza

Cajun chicken, sausage, and shrimp pizza

Posted on March 21, 2017
This recipe is kind of funny. I walked into the kitchen without a plan. The thing I wanted to make had fallen through because of one missing ingredient. Digging through the freezer I found some pizza dough (I know cheater!), next to that was some sausage, chicken, and shrimp. Sure I could ignore the pizza dough, and make a delicious gumbo, but what’s the fun in that when I could make Gumbo Pizza?!

Homemade Pretzel Bites

Homemade Pretzel Bites

with Jalapeño Cheese Beer Dip

Posted on January 31, 2017
Pretzels and dip are a mainstay when it comes to any gathering. However, pretzels are usually dry and salty and no one really likes them. Not this time, though Homemade Pretzel Bites with Jalapeño Cheese Beer Dip are made just for each other. The pretzels are soft and flavorful; the dip is ooey-gooey amazingness. Together they are a flavor blast perfect for watching a championship match, nibbling while dancing awkwardly at a party, or just snacking on because you love to cook and love bread and cheese.

Goat Cheese Risotto

Goat Cheese Risotto

With Roasted Red Peppers

Posted on December 08, 2016
I wanted to make a meatless meal that was rich and satisfying. I was at a loss, searching until I saw a title - Goat Cheese Risotto and my search was over. I just went from there, adding roasted red peppers, a couple kinds of cheese, peas, and fresh herbs until I had a filling dish that would be suitable for both a side dish and a full meal. In the end, this meal was so much better than I could have imagined.

Potato Leek Soup

Potato Leek Soup

with Smoked Cream and Three Cheeses

Posted on November 16, 2016
If you are looking for a soup that will fill you up and then some, this Potato Leek Soup with Smoked Cream and Three Cheeses is a soup that blasts “eats like a meal” out of the water! This soup eats like an all you can eat buffet! It’s rich, smoky, creamy, and super thick. It is packed with so much flavor! I’m not known for being a soup person (probably why there aren’t that many soup recipes on the blog), but this one will make a believer out of you. Or at least a soup lover.

Pouches of Poutine Pleasure

Posted on October 12, 2016
It’s National Cheese Curd Day on the 15th of October. A day that all Canadians, and fans of this Canadian cuisine staple, to go out and celebrate by indulging in copious amounts of deep fried potatoes, cheese curds, and gravy with all of the passion of an avid hockey fan watching the winning goal. Grilled Foil Packet Poutine is a great way to make individual or sharable pouches of semi-portable poutine for consumption. This is an easy recipe that you can also make while camping.

Piggy Pizza

Piggy Pizza

Celebrate National Sausage Pizza Day

Posted on October 12, 2016
So it was National Sausage Pizza on October 11th. Not a big deal. Just another day dedicated to pizza. HA! I know, I’m funny. There is nothing better than pizza. Okay not true. Homemade pizza with garlic and cheese and sausage and more sausage with additional cheese, THAT is better! Piggy Pizza is my take on the classic meat pizza that’s been taken up a few notches.

Grill Baked Pierogies

Grill Baked Pierogies

with Lamb and Vodka Cream Sauce

Posted on October 12, 2016
I have been itching to do this recipe for some time, however Grill Baked Pierogies with Lamb and Vodka Cream Sauce just never seemed to make it onto my weekly schedule of things to cook. Until now. My friend Jeffrey, gave me the base recipe and said that I should “go to town” with regards to meat and sauce choices. When I brought him the leftovers he polished them off with delight, saying that I had made them even better than he usually does. This from the man who made this pierogie recipe into an art form. I recommend eating this meal on your cheat day because, trust me, you’re going to want to eat a lot of it.

Salmon Casserole. I know you’re thinking that something’s fishy here, but I can assure you that this easy dinner is super delicious. This meal is hot and comforting. Serve it family style at the table with a selection of seasonable vegetables, or a hearty salad.

Breakfast Pizza

Breakfast Pizza

It’s Pizza – For Breakfast!

Posted on September 28, 2016

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I spend a lot of time on the Internet. Recently, I saw a photo of a delicious looking pizza with cooked eggs on top. It was some sort of dinner pizza, but I immediately thought that pizza would make a perfect breakfast food, especially made fresh and topped with eggs. Thus Breakfast Pizza and its resulting deliciousness came into being. Next time though, I am adding Hollandaise sauce!
