Better Butter Burger

Better Butter Burger

Butter makes things even better

Posted on May 25, 2017

I originally made the Better Butter Burger in March of 2011 after watching Chef Ted Reader create these masterful morsels of magnificence at a Cottage Life Show demo. The Better Butter Burger harkens back to the day when hamburger patties were fried in butter on a hot griddle, and buns were brushed with butter before being toasted or grilled too. In celebration of National Hamburger Day, I thought it would be appropriate to revisit this recipe. Taking hamburgers to the next level and infusing them with delicious butter.

Maple Miso Double Baked Sweet Potatoes

Maple Miso Double Baked Sweet Potatoes

Simply divine

Posted on March 07, 2017
Sweet, salty, and delicious, these Maple Miso Double Baked Sweet Potatoes are well worth the wait. When these land on your plate it’s Umami Bombs-away! Combining maple and miso with a hint of butter and garlic, then re-baking them caramelizes the tops and gives a slight crunch, perfect for bringing everything together.

Clam Chowder

Posted on February 22, 2017
Clam Chowder For Two is a fast and easy supper or a great little appetizer. Creamy and full of flavor, you won’t believe how easy it is to make. Smoking the cream and the clams add a barbecue flavor like no other.

Mostly-Authentic Fettuccini Alfredo

Mostly-Authentic Fettuccini Alfredo

With The Napoleon Stainless Steel Wok

Posted on February 08, 2017
To celebrate National Fettuccini Alfredo Day I made myself some Mostly-Authentic Fettuccini Alfredo With The Napoleon Stainless Steel Wok. Super authentic Fettuccini is all butter and parmesan, with little else other than the pasta itself, however, I wanted a little extra, so there’s a splash of cream and a whole lot of garlic (naturally).

Sous Vide Steak

Sous Vide Steak

with Red Wine Reduction

Posted on January 17, 2017
If you’ve been keeping up with the latest and greatest, you have probably heard of a cooking technique called Sous Vide. It’s 2017’s biggest kitchen trend. Thanks to my portable Sous Vide cooker, Joule, by ChefSteps, I have been able to keep up with the latest and greatest in gastronomic trends. Using a grill in conjunction with cooking Sous Vide just makes sense. Cooking anything using this technique means some very tender and tasty food, however, meats will need caramelization on the outside for a really toothsome flavor. That’s where the grill comes in. It’s perfect for giving you a caramelized crust on the outside! Using the infrared side burner to sear off the steak after cooking Sous Vide just takes this Sous Vide Steak with Red Wine Reduction to the next level.

Roast Chicken

Roast Chicken

Injected with Sweet Chili & Butter

Posted on October 05, 2016
Roast chicken is an easy way to prepare a family dinner to celebrate a major event like Thanksgiving. It’s also a more economic option to buying a whole roasting turkey which can get a little expensive. Roast Chicken Injected with Sweet Chili & Butter came about when I wanted to do something a little different with my side dish, Roasted Acorn Squash with Chili and Masala. The cinnamon, nutmeg, and cumin blended beautifully, pairing well with the heat from the roasted squash. The sweet chili and butter injection kept the meat ridiculously succulent.

Breakfast Pizza

Breakfast Pizza

It’s Pizza – For Breakfast!

Posted on September 28, 2016

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I spend a lot of time on the Internet. Recently, I saw a photo of a delicious looking pizza with cooked eggs on top. It was some sort of dinner pizza, but I immediately thought that pizza would make a perfect breakfast food, especially made fresh and topped with eggs. Thus Breakfast Pizza and its resulting deliciousness came into being. Next time though, I am adding Hollandaise sauce!

Bison Burgers

Bison Burgers

with Garlic & Feta

Posted on August 30, 2016
Hamburgers don’t have to be exclusively made with beef. These Bison Burgers with Garlic & Feta are definite proof of that. Bison is a little leaner than beef and pork, but the flavor is incredible. Accent that with some fresh garlic, and salty feta cheese for an incredible burger. A local butcher should be able to help you get your hands on Bison meat for this recipe, but you can also try your local farmer’s market.

Chocolate Cheesecake

Chocolate Cheesecake

with Maple Pecan Topping

Posted on August 25, 2016

After making Homemade Lasagna, I found myself with a lot of leftover ricotta cheese. What better way to use up the extra ricotta than to make a Chocolate Cheesecake with  Maple Pecan Topping? Instead of my usual Cheesecake Recipe, I added ricotta for a more "Italian Style" cheesecake. Inspired by National Chocolate Pecan Pie Day on August 20th, I also added the crust from my Salted Maple Pecan Bars, as well as the topping. This cheesecake recipe has to be the richest one to date.

Hassleback Style Garlic Bread

Hassleback Style Garlic Bread

On COBS Bread Sunflower Flax Sourdough

Posted on July 27, 2016
There is nothing better than a loaf of fresh bread. Well…. Okay garlic bread made from a loaf of fresh bread could tie for the top spot of nothing-better-ness. That’s why I made Hassleback Style Garlic Bread On COBS Bread Sunflower Flax Sourdough. The bread was super fresh and smelled soooo good! It was all I could do not to go all “my precious” on it. I did wind up sharing the bread with other people at dinner, much to my chagrin. Though, they did enjoy it, so I guess that makes up for having to share.
