BBQ Sundaes

Layers of Savory Goodness

Posted on November 09, 2016
It’s National Sundae Day soon. Don’t relegate yourself to consuming copious amounts of ice cream layered with delicious tidbits like strawberries, chocolate fudge, and whipped cream. (Not that this is a bad thing) Why not try something layered with more savory treats? BBQ Sundaes are made with the expectation that you have prepared each of the ingredients prior to beginning this fun way of serving your favorite barbecued delicacies. If not, you better get grilling. I’ve made some recipe suggestions for you, picking out my favorites for these delicious BBQ Sundae layers.

Breakfast Pizza

Breakfast Pizza

It’s Pizza – For Breakfast!

Posted on September 28, 2016

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I spend a lot of time on the Internet. Recently, I saw a photo of a delicious looking pizza with cooked eggs on top. It was some sort of dinner pizza, but I immediately thought that pizza would make a perfect breakfast food, especially made fresh and topped with eggs. Thus Breakfast Pizza and its resulting deliciousness came into being. Next time though, I am adding Hollandaise sauce!

Pork Fatty

Pork Fatty

Stuffed With Bacon & Apple

Posted on August 30, 2016
When having a big family dinner it’s always nice to do a big roast – in this case a pig roast! Ha. On this particular occasion I found myself with a lovely butterflied roast of pork. I decided to create a Pork Fatty Stuffed With Bacon & Apple for our meal and, aside from a minor incident involving a lack of potatoes; the meal was a total success. I can hear you asking about the potato thing. I thought we had a whole bag of mini potatoes. I only had 12 to feed 8 people. Then, a few of them burned while I was cooking; Disaster! Though the meat and veggies were delicious, which made up for it.

Roast Chicken

Roast Chicken

with Honey, Hickory & Bacon

Posted on August 30, 2016
Roast chicken is amazing. You can serve it as a big family dinner, or make one and use it in recipes for the whole week. This Roast Chicken with Honey, Hickory & Bacon served just that purpose. Day one, we ate a few slices with potatoes and grilled veggies. Then I added some leftovers to a great salad – featured in this recipe – and after that we used what was left to make chicken sandwiches!

Super Perogies

Super Perogies

With Cheese & Chives

Posted on March 10, 2016
I was at a complete loss as to what I should make for supper one night. I was hungry, alone, and it was after 8 pm. I hadn’t pulled anything out to defrost, and driving to a takeout joint seemed like so much work. Then; a shining light from the freezer. Angels sang and inspiration patted me on the back. Super Perogies With Cheese & Chives was born.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites

With Maple Mustard Glaze

Posted on February 03, 2016
Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites With Maple Mustard Glaze are an easy game day snack, or party treat. Make a lot though because they disappear fast once they hit the table. These are easy to prep ahead of time and pull out of the freezer for an event as well. Become the hero of the next tailgate (or Homegate) when you whip these up. Bacon Wrapped Chicken Bites With Maple Mustard Glaze have it all. Sweet, salty, bacon-y, smoky flavors caressing your tongue with every bite. It won't matter if your team loses if you serve these.

 Peanut Brittle

Peanut Brittle

With Smoked Peanuts & Bacon

Posted on January 27, 2016
I just found out that there is a National Peanut Brittle Day. Naturally I had to make a brittle recipe to celebrate, but it had to be done on the grill! So I made Peanut Brittle With Smoked Peanuts & Bacon to celebrate. As you know, adding bacon to anything makes it at least 20% cooler and taste at least 50% better. You just have to try this recipe!

Mini Quiche

With Bacon & Cheese

Posted on December 22, 2015
This year, instead of a massive Christmas Dinner, we're doing more of a Christmas Brunch, with loads of delicious, homemade, grilled, finger foods. Mini Quiche With Bacon & Cheese are the star of the show, providing the big breakfast punch without the need of knives and forks. They're going to be served along with a spread of meats and cheeses, homemade biscuits, Homemade Sausage Rolls, and Oatmeal Cookies with Crasins, Bacon and Chocolate Chips

Oatmeal, Cranberry, Bacon, Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oatmeal, Cranberry, Bacon, Chocolate Chip Cookies

Perfect breakfast cookies

Posted on December 22, 2015
Oatmeal, Cranberry, Bacon, Chocolate Chip Cookies came from a desire to make a slightly themed Christmas Brunch. Theme was Bacon and Eggs, but we weren't planning on a sit-down meal. Rather we thought we would make finger foods that we could enjoy while conversing and opening gifts. These cookies aren't overly sweet, but the smokiness of the bacon, tartness of the cranberries, and the hit of chocolate creates a symphony of perfect cookiness.
