Cast Iron Halibut

Cast Iron Halibut

With Lemon And Garlic

Posted on February 03, 2015
You know, for the longest time I thought that Halibut was only for deep frying, but this Cast Iron Halibut With Lemon And Garlic is tender, flaky, and just the right amount of fishy for me. You know, when it doesn't make your house smell like a day on the wharf, but instead, imbues everything with the most delightful herby-garlic scent that makes everything all better. Well until you inevitably need a whole flippin' chocolate cake. Oh? It's only myself and the Baron (My Husband) who require chocolate after garlic?

White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

Perfect for snacking

Posted on January 27, 2015
White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies are soft and delicious. Creamy white chocolate melts on your tongue and you are shocked by the tart cranberries sneaking into every bite. Humm. These cookies sound a little more poetic than I expected. They're going to be a family favorite though, that is for sure.

Fully Loaded Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Fully Loaded Baked Scalloped Potatoes

Baked potatoes in scalloped form

Posted on January 13, 2015
These Fully Loaded Baked Scalloped Potatoes are a mouthful to say, but they're worth it. I mean, Scalloped Potatoes are already a near perfect dish with the cheese and sauce and potatoes all baked into some sort of heavenly feast. Then you go and add your favorite fixings for Baked Potatoes, bacon, chives, garlic, and sour cream. Stick that in your grill and bake it! I mean it! You have to try these potatoes!

Smoked Leg of Pork

Smoked Leg of Pork

Sweet and Sassy

Posted on October 22, 2014
Smoked Leg of Pork is super versatile and worth the wait with your smoker. I got a real deal on a gigantic leg of pork, like this thing was 15+ pounds, and I only paid $1.00/lb or something. So there it sat in my freezer for nearly 9 months, waiting for the perfect moment to be grilled to perfection. And it was time. The air was crisp, apples came into season, and I was ready.

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

Peanut Butter Banana Bread

With Oatmeal And Chocolate Chips

Posted on September 16, 2014

Sure, you could celebrate national peanut day with just one thing, and that thing was delicious grilled chicken legs, slathered with  Peanut Butter Barbecue Sauce, but what's the fun in that when you can celebrate with TWO recipes? Basically, I don't like to have a meal without something a little sweet at the end. I have a sweet tooth. It's right beside my garlic tooth and my meat tooth.

This loaf of pure deliciousness is fantastically gluten free and vegan if you can believe it. It's like a granola bar got married to cake and had an oatmeal muffin baby, then sprinkled it with chocolate chips. No seriously guys, it's that good. It makes a filling breakfast, but it's perfect for a relatively guilt free after dinner sweet too.

Ghost Pepper Chili

Ghost Pepper Chili

So good it's spooky!

Posted on November 19, 2013

I asked my readers out there what I should do with the Ghost Peppers that I managed to finally get my hands on. Ghost Pepper Chili was the most suggested recipe and I am happy to oblige. Fresh vegetables and grilled beef make up the bones of this dish, but watch out, it bites back! I really suggest that you serve your Ghost Pepper Chili with a dollop of sour cream, some cheese or a tall and cold glass of milk. Alright, it's not that hot. Most hot-heads will be calling me a wimp, but I like to taste the food I eat. This chili will make your cheeks glow, and if you're sensitive, your nose run. But that's about it. But DANG it tastes good.

Grilled Date Cake

Grilled Date Cake

with Caramel Pilsner Sauce

Posted on August 13, 2011
Similar to Sticky Toffee Pudding of Scotland, this gooey, tooth rotting, sweet treat is awesome. The beer adds a whole new dimension to the caramel sauce flavor, and the dates give a weight to the cakes that make you feel like you had a lot, when you only ate a little.

Beer Marinade

Beer Marinade

Acidic Marinade

Posted on June 28, 2011

This marinade is great for red meats, and only takes 20 minutes to make. You may want to have extra beer though…one for you, one for the marinade… It is great to make in batches, and you can cover it, refrigerating for up to 3 weeks if unused.
